Summary:
The SEL TOSA will play a critical role in fostering a positive and supportive school environment by implementing and supporting social-emotional learning programs, behavior plans, and intervention strategies. This position requires expertise in SEL practices, behavior management, coaching, the MTSS process, and professional development facilitation.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and Implement Behavior Plans: Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and parents to create individualized behavior plans for students who require additional support. Utilizing data to monitor and assess the effectiveness of behavior plans, making necessary adjustments as needed.
- Culturally responsive PBIS: Serve as the lead in implementing a culturally responsive PBIS framework school-wide. Collaborate with stakeholders to establish clear behavior expectations, develop proactive strategies, and reinforce positive behavior throughout the school community.
- Behavioral Intervention Coaching: Provide ongoing coaching and support to teachers in implementing effective behavior management techniques. Offer guidance and feedback to enhance their skills in managing student behavior and fostering a positive classroom environment.
- Develop Tier 1 and Tier 2 Behavioral Supports: Design and implement universal (Tier 1) SEL strategies to promote positive behavior and social-emotional development for all students. Develop targeted (Tier 2) interventions and supports for students requiring additional assistance. Monitor the progress and effectiveness of these interventions.
- Conduct Professional Development for Staff: Plan, organize, and deliver high-quality professional development sessions on social-emotional learning, behavior management strategies, and evidence-based practices. Stay up-to-date with current research and best practices in SEL to ensure PD sessions are relevant and effective.
- Support the MTSS Process: Collaborate with the MTSS team to identify students in need of intensive behavioral interventions. Participate in the Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) process, providing expertise and guidance to develop comprehensive plans to support students' social-emotional needs.
- Data Collection and Analysis: Collect and analyze data related to student behavior, SEL programs, and interventions. Use data to inform decision-making, identify trends, and measure the effectiveness of various SEL initiatives.
- Collaborative Partnerships: Foster positive relationships with students, staff, parents, and community members to build a strong network of support for students' social-emotional well-being. Collaborate with community organizations and agencies to provide additional resources and support for students and families.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Currently hold a Colorado teaching license
- Completed and submitted BVSD on-line application
- Experience in implementing SEL programs and behavior management strategies
Preferred:
- Bilingual English/Spanish
- Minimum of three years experience working in education
- Knowledge of Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) and experience in behavior intervention planning
- Ability to deliver engaging and impactful professional development sessions
- Strong data collection, analysis, and reporting skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with various stakeholders

Salary Placement varies according to experience and education.
