Summary:

Under the direction of the Director of Multi Tiered System of Supports (MTSS), the MTSS TOSA supports schools in the implementation of strategic initiatives with a focus on the MTSS culturally responsive PBIS framework. The MTSS TOSA will assist in PBIS and tiered behavioral supports across the district, including communicating with school teams, developing training for school staff and teachers, providing resources in the area of PBIS, guiding school-based processes, and monitoring data. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Plans and implements district-level tasks and initiatives related to MTSS and PBIS as directed by the MTSS Director.
  • Work collaboratively with district administrators, school-based leadership teams, and teachers to facilitate implementation of PBIS within a multi-tiered system of supports (MTSS) at the district and school levels.
  • Monitor the fidelity of implementation of culturally responsive behavior supports at school sites, including the identification of students, delivery of interventions, and progress monitoring.
  • Coach school sites on analyzing student needs and identifying culturally and linguistically responsive, research-based interventions for behavior and social-emotional learning (SEL).
  • Help establish data collection and analysis procedures through a data system to inform decision-making around student needs and district/school resource allocation.
  • Coordinate and facilitate behavior-specific MTSS professional development and training for school-based and district staff.
  • Respond to school requests at the direction of the Director of MTSS or Chief Academic Officer.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications: 

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Education
  • Minimum of five years experience teaching and/or a minimum of three years of educational leadership experience, e.g., school based, central office, educational BOCES, etc.
  • Currently hold a Colorado teaching license or have licensure application in process (must upload license or in process documentation to application)
  • Completed and submitted BVSD online application

Preferred:

  • Bilingual English/Spanish
  • Proven experience supporting positive student behaviors in a school environment
  • Thorough understanding of appropriate developmental behaviors in school-aged youth
  • Training and experience in designing, implementing and monitoring behavior interventions
  • Knowledgeable and articulate about strategies utilizing culturally and linguistically responsive approaches
  • Understanding of PBIS implementation and best practices
  • Ability to study, analyze, and synthesize data in order to identify student achievement areas of strengths and weaknesses as well as program effectiveness

Salary Information: 

Salary Placement varies according to experience and education.
