Summary:
The Math TOSA provides support to the STEAM Director and schools in the implementation of the BVSD instructional infrastructure. This includes support for systems level visioning, action planning, and communication related to Mathematics standards, instruction, and assessment in elementary, middle, and high schools. In addition to serving as part of the STEAM Team, the Math TOSA will work with departments to plan high quality professional learning opportunities, guide material implementation, support data driven instruction, and provide additional specified supports. The Math TOSA will support all schools across and represent BVSD in the area of Mathematics.
Responsibilities:
- Content: Facilitate activities that develop, revise, or refine the delivery of structures and outcomes that align with BVSD’s Strategic Plan. Support with the visioning, standards alignment, scope, sequence, development of curricular resources, assessments, instructional material selection, universal instructional practices, and the selection of intervention resources and tools.
- Partnerships: Assist schools in applying related district initiatives in K-12 Math, including, but not limited to, support for data-driven instruction, PD development, facilitation of adult learning in person and virtually, lesson planning aligned to backwards design principles, and coaching and consultation to facilitate standards-based, interactive, language-rich mathematics instruction.
- Systems Alignment: Participate in district leadership training as identified by the School Leadership, Opportunity and Access, Professional Learning, and Academic Services departments. Leadership training may include: meetings, professional development sessions, data analysis and development, and other activities which support leadership skills and Strategic Plan initiatives.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Currently hold a Colorado teaching license or have licensure application in process with appropriate endorsement in Elementary Education (K-6) OR Mathematics (7-12) (must upload license or in process documentation to application).
- Minimum of three years experience teaching Math and/or a minimum of three years of educational leadership experience, e.g., school based, central office, educational BOCES, etc.
- Completed and submitted BVSD on-line application.
- The READ Act SB 19-199 (PDF) and SB22-004 (PDF) requires that all Colorado teachers who provide literacy instruction to students must earn a "READ Act Designation" by meeting specific requirements. If you are hired for a position requiring the READ Act Designation, you will be required to obtain it. Additional information can be found here.

- Demonstrates strong knowledge of interactive, language rich, differentiated instructional practices to support all students.

- Experience with data-driven instructional practices.
- Experience designing and facilitating professional development for adult learners.
Salary Information:
Salary Placement varies according to experience and education.
