Under the direction of the building principal, the Environmental STEAM Teacher On Special Assignment (TOSA) will provide school-wide support for the school’s E-STEAM program through the coordination, development, and delivery of E-STEAM initiatives. This role collaborates with all stakeholders on E-STEAM activities and ensures that the initiatives are being implemented and utilized in alignment with the curriculum standards through professional development and training.
Responsibilities:
- Provide coaching, modeling, and support for grade level teams in implementing and revising Project-based learning E-STEAM units that are cross-curricular and aligned to state standards.
- Create educational E-STEAM opportunities and events for students and families through community outreach and partnerships. Oversee various school-wide E-STEAM projects and initiatives.
- Develop, organize, coordinate, and lead training for staff related to E-STEAM best practices, Head-Heart-Hands and Feet/ EMovement practices, NGSS (Next Generation Science Standards), Colorado Academic Content Standards for Social Studies, and integration strategies.
- Support the scheduling and implementation of student experiential learning opportunities.
- Participate in available E-STEAM training.
- Collaborate in the writing and implementation of E-STEAM grants.
- Work with administration and staff to enhance parent involvement.
- Collaborate with the BVSD STEAM team and environmental partners to align and connect school initiatives with district goals and state programming.
- Participate in the school management and school improvement teams to provide insight and feedback on the school’s E-STEAM goals and measures of effectiveness.
- At the direction of the building administrator, attend leadership meetings.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Must have a valid Colorado Teacher License, Principal License, or Administrator License
- Experience with project-based learning, environmental education, and STEAM principles
- Minimum of 3 years PK-5 classroom teaching experience
- Must have a valid Colorado driver’s license
Preferred:
- Minimum of five years experience working in education
- Masters Degree in early childhood special education
- Experience coaching
- Experience providing professional development
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced and evolving environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Skills and experience preparing and delivering presentations to small and large groups
- Strong content knowledge in science and social studies
- Ability to Identify, use, and train others on instructional technology

Salary Placement varies according to experience and education.
