    Summary:
    Supports teachers and service providers in their early career development through structured professional learning and classroom/setting coaching.

    Responsibilities:
    -Serves as mentor resource for novice teachers new to the district by providing peer consultation/modeling of effective lessons and lesson plans, instructional techniques, behavior management, availability and use of resources, and other matters impacting teaching success.
    -Provides supportive feedback through a variety of sources, which can include observation, consultation, and coaching to further develop instructional effectiveness
    -Provides support to non-probationary teachers in order to improve their practice through the Teacher Support Program
    -Assists mentees in identifying and setting goals and objectives which are aligned with Boulder Valley School District Evaluation Standards
    -Displays strong organizational skills, including time and resource management, and record keeping
    -Builds and maintains a positive relationship with school administrators in order to support the professional growth of the mentee
    -Maintain confidentiality concerning professional conversations with mentees
    -Facilitates the completion of BVSD induction requirements for participants, including conducting induction seminars and assisting with New Educator Orientation
    -Participates as a mentor team member by planning, developing, and conducting staff development opportunities for Educator Support Programs
    -Performs related duties consistent with the scope and intent of the position
    -Navigates multiple situations, learning and communication styles, and environments
    -Positively impacts student achievement through innovative instructional strategies
    -Demonstrates a strong knowledge of the curriculum and content area
    -Effectively manages the learning environment
    -Values student diversity and support the unique learning needs of each individual student

    -Works collaboratively with colleagues, families and community

    -Follows State legal requirements and District and building policies and procedures

    Qualifications:
    Required:
    -Masters Degree
    -Currently hold a Colorado teaching license
    -CDE licensure application will also be accepted
    -Seven years successful classroom teaching experience, five of which must be within Boulder Valley School District
    -Completed and submitted BVSD online application

    Preferred:
    -Principal License and/or CLD endorsement
    -Leadership/Professional Development experience at district and/or building level working with adult learners
    -Demonstrated ability to work successfully with racially, culturally and linguistically different groups
    -Continued commitment to grow as a culturally responsive educator
    -Strong content knowledge of best practices and assessment, multiple strategies of approaching instruction from a foundational and pedagogical perspective that considers the student, teacher and content
    -Experience with designing and facilitating in professional development

    Salary information:
    -Salary Placement varies according to experience and education.
