TEACHER - 8th Grade US History - Full time, begins August of 2025. The teacher is a specialist responsible for educating each student in their charge and working with students, parents, teachers and staff toward achieving the goals set forth in the Summit mission. The teacher is supervised and evaluated by the principal.
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and abilities needed for this position:
- A BA/BS in a related field required, with an advanced degree in Education or History strongly preferred; teaching certificate a plus
- Minimum three years of experience teaching middle or high school Social Studies preferred
- Demonstrated expertise in the field of Social Studies
- Expertise in curriculum development
- Strong collaboration, coordination and organization skills
- Ability to assess grade level needs against Summit’s standards and benchmarks, and plan and organize curriculum delivery accordingly
- Expertise in technology applications and instructional technology practices
- Ability to teach electives and to engage in a variety of community building programs and events
