Summary:

Homebound Teacher is a part of a team of teachers who are providing instruction to students who are unable to access educational services in their school of attendance. Homebound Teachers provide instruction in the family home or agreed upon alternate location. Need for teachers is dependent upon student referrals, HB teachers are required to work with at least one student during the school year to be eligible for ongoing HB referrals. HB teachers may accept as few as one case at a time or a full forty hour workload.

Responsibilities: 

  • Must be able to have strong interpersonal skills as position requires interface with students, families and school personnel.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate via email, phone and in person contact.
  • Must be able to travel to student’s home or locations of instruction (vehicle, alternative means of transportation).
  • Must be able to meet deadlines regarding student work completion, payroll, etc.
  • Must be able to provide individualized instruction in a wide range of academic topics.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications: 

Required:

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Must have a valid Colorado Teaching License
  • Minimum of one year experience
  • Communicate (read, write, and speak) in English
  • Completed and submitted BVSD online application

Preferred:

  • Knowledge of and deep belief in inclusion in the general education classroom for all students, including those on an IEP and/or learning English

Salary Information: 

Salary Placement varies according to experience and education.
