Summary:
Under the supervision of the Sustainability and Energy Officer, this position assists in work to gather, monitor and analyze district energy and utility data and associated costs. Work includes data entry (waste, energy, water, renewables and EV) and analysis. Work also includes support for sustainability projects such as in school education programs, outdoor learning and events.
Responsibilities:
- Collect, input and analyze energy & utility cost and use data and metrics (including waste, water, energy, renewables, EV, IAQ).
- Assist in administering district-wide sustainability, energy management and conservation plans and programs to reach district goals and objectives. Help with building "walk-throughs" and identify energy conservation measures in facilities.
- Support for sustainability projects such as in school education programs and student engagement programs.
- Support for event planning relating to sustainability.
- Support for outdoor learning project design, teacher engagement and student engagement.
- Research and recommend sustainability and energy grant and rebate opportunities with utility companies, private groups, and governmental agencies.
- Support the work of the Sustainability and Energy Officer and Sustainability Advisory Committee as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Required
- Bachelor’s Degree with a major pertinent to the position requirements: Sustainability, Energy Management, Data Analysis, Environmental Design.
- Over one year, and up to and including five years experience in: Sustainability planning and implementation, Data Analysis, Energy Management and Environmental Design, Program implementation in an educational setting.
- Completed and submitted BVSD online application.
- Communicate (read, write, and speak) in English.
Preferred:
- Microsoft Office Suite including Project
- Utility Management Software
- Organizational, scheduling, and coordination skills
- Research and mathematical skills
- Ability to be a part of and work with a team
Salary Information:
Salary Range 3: $70,667.00 - $106,000.00
Salary Placement varies according to experience and education.
*Pay range listed above is for employees newly hired to BVSD or current BVSD employees that are new to the employee group (existing employees currently in this unit please refer to the pay range on the appropriate salary schedule).
