Salary Range 2: $66,226.00 - $99,341.00

Summary:

In collaboration with the other members of the strategic support team, the Behavior and Instructional Specialist will support teachers with monitoring of student behavior data, coaching educators in effective classroom management strategies and modeling instructional practices aligned to the BVSD Instructional Model. This position will support the implementation of MTSS at assigned schools (5), including data collection processes and support building leaders with the development of professional learning aligned to culturally responsive instruction and classroom management.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement school-based PD in the areas of culturally responsive Instruction and managing challenging behaviors.
  • Plan with and support school teams with the functional behavior assessment process and creation of plans to support students with intense and unsafe behavior.
  • Collaborate with current administration, mental health providers, counselors, and teachers to support social emotional learning framework implementation and address social emotional wellness.
  • Work alongside Data and Instructional Coaches to identify academic and behavioral strategies in support of all students in the school.
  • Once developed, ensure each school’s behavior data collection and analysis processes are sustainable for the following school year. 
  • Provide embedded coaching and modeling for classroom teachers on academic and behavioral strategies inclusive of both universal and intervention strategies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Bachelors Degree
  • Currently hold or working towards a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) certificate (must upload certificate to application)
  • Completed and submitted BVSD online application

Preferred:

  • Minimum of three years experience in education.
  • Knowledge and experience in planning and leading effective adult learning.
  • Training in trauma-informed practices and/or restorative practices and experience teaching a social emotional curriculum to students.
  • Demonstrated achievement of school-based behavioral and academic goals.

Salary Information:

Salary Range 2: $66,226.00 - $99,341.00

Salary Placement varies according to experience and education.

*Pay range listed above is for employees newly hired to BVSD or current BVSD employees that are new to the employee group (existing employees currently in this unit please refer to the pay range on the appropriate salary schedule). BVSD engages in a salary placement process vs. a salary negotiation process.
