    Opened in the fall of 2017, Boulder Valley School District’s first school in Erie, Colorado, serves students K through 8th grade with a preschool program. The school will be a dynamic learning environment organized into five learning communities: PK-K, 1st-2nd, 3rd-4th, 5th-6th and 7th-8th. Flexible grouping arrangements and project/problem based learning are core tenets in creating challenging, meaningful and engaging learning opportunities for all students.     This position is 4 hours Office Support Assistant and 4 hours Healthroom Paraeducator. This position is part of a front office team that works collaboratively together all day long. Duties are shared and are unique to the needs of Meadowlark School.

    Responsible for supporting the elementary school by performing several clerical functions including maintaining student files, records, attendance and databases; answering phones and directing visitors, assisting students in health room, answering questions and fulfilling requests and preparing written communication. Responsible for carrying out district policies and procedures in meeting health needs of students. Assisting School Nurse Consultants to provide basic health care and first aid for students and maintain health records for students.

    School Support Assistant:

    -Communicate with staff, parents, student and district including: coordinating translations, layouts and implementation of flyers & newsletters (both staff and community) , parent or teacher handbooks, registration packets, maintain staff and parent email lists, sending and receiving email notifications.
    -Maintain student records through cumulative files and the Infinite Campus (IC) program as well as through the October Count process.
    -Serve as receptionist for the building, including answering phones, greeting visitors, answering requests, directing (& finding) needed individuals as necessary.
    -Assist with the scheduling of classified staff and building substitutes.
    -Provide assistance to staff, students, parents and school/community organizations as requested by Principal.
    -Maintain files for correspondence, memoranda, reports, handbooks and forms.
    -Process incoming and outgoing BVSD and US mail
    -Support communication throughout the school community, including maintaining the website, signage, school calendars, school tours, posting and removing school banners, flyers and announcements, community newspaper liaisons, etc.
    -Regulate school’s Master calendar, school use contracts, events including set-up, breakdown, coordination, and building use.
    -Building Security, monitor main entrance, greet authorized personnel and/or visitors following district policies and procedures.
    -Assist with ordering and distribution of school and staff material needs, including adoption materials, custodial and clerical supplies, checking in received orders, pro card use, etc.
    -Assist and implement other district programs that may be located within the school building. Answer phones, direct mail and communication, copy, etc.
    -Handle before and after school care for students left unattended by parents, discipline write ups and follow ups throughout the day when the principal or other designee is unavailable.
    -Regularly required to sit for extended periods of time; may include lifting of up to 50 pounds
    -Perform other duties as assigned.

    Health Room Paraeducator:
    -Maintain all health records, physical and electronic, for students, including log of daily health room visits
    -Provide reports as required for accidents, head injuries, infectious diseases, Medicaid, etc.
    -Administer first aid consistent with district training and emergency care guidelines
    -Administer medication as delegated by the School Nurse Consultant and according to district policy following established protocol and guidelines
    -Maintain storage, security and administration records
    -Manage school health room, equipment and order supplies
    -Organize manuals and update as needed
    -Provide guidance to promote a safe and healthy lifestyle
    -Carry out nursing procedures for individual students as delegated by the School Nurse Consultant, maintain and implement Care Plans, attend training as needed or required
    -Implement immunization law, including compliance determination, notification of noncompliance and maintenance of immunization records
    -Work with building Emergency Response Team (ERT) and maintain ERT supplies
    -Coordinate health screenings at the building level
    -Perform other duties as assigned

    -High School Diploma or equivalent
    -Completed and submitted BVSD online application
    -Communicate (read, write, and speak) in English, must pass English component of interview process
    -CPR, First Aid certifications and medical delegation certificate
    -Ability to perform physical labor, including lifting of up to 50 pounds

    -Minimum of one year experience in secretarial or clerical work.
    -Demonstrated proficiency in the use of computers, keyboarding and word processing skills
    -Knowledge and experience with Google, Microsoft Office and typical office equipment
    -Appropriate oral and written communication skills, as well as math and accounting skills
    -Ability to manage multiple priorities and tasks with frequent interruptions
    -Positive communication, interaction and work experience with diverse individuals
    - Experience with Infinite Campus

    Salary Information:
    -Salary Placement varies according to experience and education.
