Summary:
The Destination Imagination (DI) Sponsor reports to the school principal associated with the DI team and is responsible for the overall management involved in preparing a DI team for the Boulder Regional Tournament (and beyond if applicable), including the safety of the students on the team. Duties include scheduling and managing team practices and research activities, and serving as the team chaperone at competitions.
Responsibilities:
Leadership is to be provided by the coach in the following areas:
- Coordination of the schedule for team meetings.
- Development of expectations and direction of the DI program.
- Teaching skills to prepare for the regional competition.
- Communication with students, staff, etc.
- Following school district regulations and policies.
Qualifications:
Required:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Must be at least 21 years of age, or older
- Communicate (read, write, and speak) in English.
- Completed and submitted BVSD online application.
Preferred:
- Knowledge of all aspects of school athletic/activity programming.
- Proven leadership qualities and successful experience in working with school age students.
Salary Information:
Salary Placement varies according to experience and education.
*Pay range listed above is for employees newly hired to BVSD or current BVSD employees that are new to the employee group (existing employees currently in this unit please refer to the pay range on the appropriate salary schedule).
