Work Schedule: 261 Days - 12 Months - July 

Salary Range 12: $106,341 - $159,564

Summary:

The Director of Equity and Inclusive Teaching & Learning applies an equity lens to school-level and district-level systems and practices. This position provides leadership and strategic vision in coordinating, developing, implementing and evaluating district equity initiatives and professional development connected to teaching and learning. In addition, the position leads culturally relevant, transparent and authentic engagement strategies through meaningful partnerships across district stakeholder groups and strategic planning in academics across the district.

Responsibilities:

  • Provides strategic leadership in the areas of diversity, equity and inclusion. Plans and supervises implementation of district-level tasks and initiatives related to equity and community engagement. 
  • Coordinates the support of schools in achieving equity goals.
  • Support schools in consultation with the Executive Director or Assistant Superintendents with equity goals and or support with instructional equity.
  • Lead the design and facilitation of professional learning and opportunities for community engagement at district and school levels.
  • Partner with an array of community organizations to foster positive change for students and families. 
  • Stay current in the area of diversity, equity and inclusion and share new developments in the field with leaders and educators in BVSD. Ensure that BVSD is current and up to date in the equity resources and language that we are using.
  • Manage the allocation of resources to support district and school level Equity initiatives, including oversight of the Equity budget.
  • Represent Equity & Community Engagement on district leadership teams and in collaboration with external partners at the county and state level.
  • Build and support mechanisms that elevate the voices of historically underserved students, including but not limited to the BVSD Youth Equity Council, families, and staff for input and leadership in key decision-making processes and academic initiatives

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Minimum of 5 years experience (work, education, or community-based) in the field of diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • Demonstrated experience building and leading professional development,
  • Proven relationship-building skills with internal and external partners and people from various backgrounds and cultures.
  • Completed and submitted BVSD on-line application.
  • Current Colorado Administrator license or Type D license or willing to obtain one within 12 months
  • Must have a valid Colorado driver's license.

Preferred:

  • Bilingual English/Spanish
  • Masters degree
  • Experience as a school and or district leader.

Salary Information:

Salary Range 12: $106,341 - $159,564

Salary Placement varies according to experience and education.

*Pay range listed above is for employees newly hired to BVSD or current BVSD employees that are new to the employee group (existing employees currently in this unit please refer to the pay range on the appropriate salary schedule). BVSD engages in a salary placement process vs. a salary negotiation process. The compensation offered to the successful applicant may vary based on factors including experience and education.
