Summary:

The Student Support Services Coordinator supports the Director of Student Support Services with students’ academic, social emotional well-being, behavior, and post-secondary success. This includes collaboration with School Counselors, Mental Health Advocates, Health & Wellness Coordinator, and various departments within BVSD. This position provides the social emotional & mental health support necessary to ensure a safe and supportive environment that is conducive to academic achievement and healthy personal development. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Coordinate and support Student Support Service programming. This includes building sustainable systems and structures to support ongoing programming and data collection efforts for school counselors, mental health, suicide prevention and other behavioral health efforts.
  • Identify funding opportunities that support programming within Student Support Services. Manage writing the grant application, program implementation, budget management, evaluation and reporting efforts required for the grant. 
  • Coordinate the planning of professional development offerings provided by the department of Student Support Services. This includes facilitating training to staff and community on trauma responsive practices.
  • Organize, manage and support staff with the district’s suicide risk review protocol and screenings.
  • Collaboration with community partners on services available to support our students overall wellbeing.
  • In coordination with the Director of Student Support Services, organize, train and lead the district’s trauma response teams. Lead the teams to support major traumatic events across the district for all schools (student/teacher deaths, suicides, school threats, etc.). 
  • Serve on district and state level committees as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications: 

Required:

  • Master’s Degree with a major pertinent to the position requirements: School Counseling, Psychology, Social Work.
  • Minimum of five years experience working with PK-12 students
  • Minimum of three years experience in: grant experience and programming management including budgeting
  • Trauma Informed background
  • Completed and submitted BVSD online application.

Preferred:

  • Experience attending to adult learners and interdisciplinary responsibility, both district/internal and community.
  • Proficiency in grant writing including budget development and evaluation protocols.
  • Up to date knowledge of legal requirements, board policies, and best practices in mental health, school counseling, behavior & discipline support, social and emotional learning, and post-secondary planning.

Salary Information:

Salary Range 7:$88,429.00 - $132,6645.00

Salary Placement varies according to experience and education.

*Pay range listed above is for employees newly hired to BVSD or current BVSD employees that are new to the employee group (existing employees currently in this unit please refer to the pay range on the appropriate salary schedule).
