Salary Range 6: $84,827.00 - $127,241.00

Summary:

Coordinate and provide leadership for School Nursing Practice and the Health Services Department.

Responsibilities: 

  • Provide leadership, management, coordination and policy development of school nurses and health paraprofessionals.
  • Responsible for nursing staff evaluation process to develop goals and objectives, linking the district Strategic Plan and Success Effect to state initiatives for health and health services.
  • Participate in district-level school health policy development, implementation, and evaluation.
  • Ensure legal and safety compliance for Health Services.
  • Monitor and evaluate quality assurance outcomes for nursing services.
  • Supervise nursing team and the training and orientation for new Health Services staff.
  • Provide budget oversight and support yearly budget development process as well as assist with monitoring expenditures.
  • Act as liaison for Director of Health Services as directed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications: 

Required:

  • Masters degree in Nursing.
  • Minimum of five years of experience in: School Nursing.
  • Minimum of two years experience supervising nurses.
  • Must have a valid driver's license.
  • Active Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies (DORA) Registered Nurse (RN) license; required at entry.
  • Must have or be willing to obtain by official start date a CDE Special Skills Provider license with appropriate endorsement in School Nurse 0-21 (must upload license or in process documentation to application). 
  • Current CPR and First Aid certification from a nationally recognized program of instruction. 
  • Completed and submitted BVSD on-line application.

Preferred:

  • Experience attending to adult learners and interdisciplinary responsibility.
  • Knowledge of the IEP/IFSP/504 and school health care provisions.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality in all aspects of the job. 
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, take initiative and work independently. 
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks with frequent interruptions. 
  • Ability to diffuse and manage volatile and stressful situations. 
  • Ability to interact and work effectively and cooperatively with people from diverse ethnic and educational backgrounds.  

Salary Information: 

Salary Range 6: $84,827.00 - $127,241.00

Salary Placement varies according to experience and education.

*Pay range listed above is for employees newly hired to BVSD or current BVSD employees that are new to the employee group (existing employees currently in this unit please refer to the pay range on the appropriate salary schedule).
