Summary:
The Business Services Coordinator supports financial planning, compliance, and reporting for assigned school and departmental funds. This role assists with budget development and forecasting, manages key financial processes, and ensures alignment with district and federal guidelines. The Coordinator also oversees effort reporting, supports school staff with financial systems, contributes to budget documents, and prepares audit materials-all while serving as a liaison across departments to promote effective fiscal management.
Responsibilities:
- For each assigned fund, assist schools and/or departments to develop budgets and revisions and ensure compliance, prepare budget uploads to the District’s financial system, forecast spending and communicate progress with schools and departments, set up and manage project assignments for assigned personnel, review/approve journal entries, process invoices, submit monthly, quarterly, annual financial reports.
- Manage Effort Reporting in the District’s financial system for assigned federal programs, if applicable, and respond to inquiries from personnel regarding time & effort certification.
- Assist Director of Federal Programs and Grants with school and department communications, collaboration, and training.
- Collaborate with other Business Services personnel on monthly training for school office managers and treasurers. Be a point of contact for inquiries from schools.
- Assist school personnel with the District's online student fee payment portals and student activity account additions/maintenance.
- Provide input on assigned sections of the District’s annual budget documents. Provide documentation to auditors for the District’s Single Audit.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Associate Degree or above with a major pertinent to the position: Finance, Accounting, or Business Management - two years of relevant working experience may be used to substitute for one year of degree
- Minimum of two years of experience in: Finance/Accounting or related fields
- Completed and submitted BVSD online application
Preferred:
- Minimum of one year of experience in grant management
Salary Information:
Salary Range 2: $66,226.00 - $99,341.00
Salary Placement varies according to experience and education.
*Pay range listed above is for employees newly hired to BVSD or current BVSD employees that are new to the employee group (existing employees currently in this unit please refer to the pay range on the appropriate salary schedule).
