    Summary:
    A BVSD special education teacher plans, develops, implements, and monitors individualized education programs, provides appropriate specialized educational instruction and works closely with general educators to ensure continuity of services for meeting the specific needs of students with disabilities.

    Responsibilities:
    -Work with students with identified learning disabilities, determining programming needs and challenges of students with multiple needs
    -Develop, utilize, and implement assessments and Individualized Educational Plans (IEP)
    -Write and develop appropriate curriculum accommodations and modifications in all academic areas and grade levels individualized to each student
    -Write aligned individual assessment results and interpretations, with measurable goals and a program delivery plan
    -Positively impacts student achievement through innovative instructional strategies
    -Demonstrates a strong knowledge of the curriculum and content area
    -Effectively manages the learning environment
    -Values student diversity and support the unique learning needs of each individual student
    -Exhibits a growth mindset through participation in high quality professional learning
    -Works collaboratively with colleagues, families and community
    -Builds positive relationships and communicate effectively with families
    -Uses inclusive and differentiated instructional practices to support all students
    -Uses data-driven evidence to inform instruction
    -Demonstrates a level of technology proficiency that enhances student learning
    -Contributes to a positive, child centered school culture
    -Follows State legal requirements and District and building policies and procedures

    Qualifications:
    Required:
    -Currently hold a Colorado teaching license or have licensure application in process with appropriate endorsement as Special Education Generalist or the equivalent or the appropriate endorsement for the student population (must upload license or in process documentation to application)
    -Completed and submitted BVSD on-line application

    Preferred:
    -Skills and experience in collaboration and co-teaching with classroom teachers and support professionals
    -Training or experience in serving English Language Learners (ELL) students
    -Technology and software skills and experience–(Infinite Campus and Excent)

    Salary Information:
    -Salary Placement varies according to experience and education.
