    Summary:
    A BVSD special education teacher plans, develops, implements, and monitors individualized education programs, provides appropriate specialized educational instruction and works closely with general educators to ensure continuity of services for meeting the specific needs of students with disabilities.

    Qualifications:
    Required:
    -Currently hold a Colorado teaching license or have licensure application in process with appropriate endorsement as Special Education Specialist: Deaf and Hard of Hearing or equivalent (must upload license or in process documentation to application)
    -Completed and submitted BVSD on-line application

    Preferred:
    -Provide services to hearing impaired students within a classroom setting
    -Act as case manager: ability to administer assessments, develop IEPs and implement them
    -Proficient with multiple sign systems (ASL, SEE, Total Communication)
    -Committed to core values of inclusive education for all students
    -Analysis of student data to design and deliver instruction
    -Ability to write and individualize curriculum based on standards for each student thereby leading the team in providing differentiated instruction
    -Ability to provide research-based literacy interventions effectively
    -Ability to flexibly apply a strong background knowledge in language development along with reading, writing and math development to positively impact student achievement
    -Diagnostic and prescriptive skills in language, math, reading, writing, speaking and spelling
    -Skill and experience in collaboration with teacher and support professionals such as educational interpreters and paraeducators
    -Elementary credential/experience
    -Technology and software skills – Infinite Campus

    Salary Information:
    -Salary Placement varies according to experience and education.
