The School Age Care (SAC) Program offers before and after school care at multiple BVSD schools. The BVSD SAC program prides itself on providing quality care that is engaging, fun, and developmentally appropriate. SAC members that work over 20 hours per week are entitled to full health and dental benefits. As a SAC Assistant Supervisor you will be a part of a high energy, collaborative and inclusive team.
-Assist Supervisor in implementing program based on philosophy including day-to-day operation, field trips, and special events.
-Maintain clear, consistent, and fair limits on children's behavior
-Maintain positive guidance and discipline techniques set by program
-Access resources as necessary for special needs children
-Continue professional growth, attend all staff meetings and in-services
-Adhere to licensing guidelines set by the Colorado Department of Social Services, Boulder County Health Department and *School District policies and procedures
-Work cooperatively with Supervisor in sharing responsibilities
-Assist Supervisor to create a harmonious and efficient work environment
-Assist Supervisor at monthly staff meeting to review schedule, address relevant issues and build team cohesion
-Maintain program supplies and services
-Maintain accurate attendance and tracking records, knowing where children are at all times
-Provide accurate and timely information to Supervisor
-Share relevant resources and materials with Supervisor, staff and parents
-Maintain on-going communication with Supervisor and staff
-Establish and maintain regular and open communication with parents regarding children's progress and behavior as well as upcoming field trips and special events
-Establish and maintain on-going timely communication with school building personnel
-Ability to perform physical labor at times, lifting up to 25lbs
-High School diploma or equivalent
-Communicate (read, write, and speak) in English, must pass English component of interview process
-Completed and submitted BVSD online application
-Ability and the skill to exercise appropriate supervision and direction to children ages 5 - 12
-Minimum of 6 months full time experience working with groups of 4 or more children
-Demonstrate successful experience in program design and implementation for children
-Demonstrate successful experience working with school age children or youth
-Proven ability to work effectively in a team and guide and supervise adult staff
-Effective verbal and written communication skills
-Professional attitude regarding the childcare profession
-Experience with special needs children
-Pay Rates based on 2019-2020 pay schedule
