    Bear Creek Elementary is a neighborhood school of 440 students, nestled up against the foothills of Boulder. A multi-year Blue Ribbon School recipient, it is a school where creative staff and engaged students learn and play together with the support of parents and community. The environment is one in which social-emotional growth is a top priority, academic achievement is strategically cultivated, all students are valued and diversity is embraced. The school houses a program for students with autism that reflects the school’s welcoming and inclusive culture.

    Provide collaborative leadership in the following areas

    • Purposeful and inclusive curriculum and instructional strategies that are school-wide and focused
    • Ongoing assessment of school progress and student achievement

    • Hire, supervise, and evaluate staff members
    • Provide a safe and secure educational environment


    • Possess (or application submitted to Colorado Department of Education) a Colorado Principal License at time of hire
    • Completed BVSD Online Application
    • At least 3 years’ experience as a school administrator

    • Experience in teaching, supervision and educational leadership
    • Principal experience or its equivalent
    • Experience with data-driven school improvement processes that result in high academic achievement for all and elimination of achievement gaps
    • Knowledge of student assessment and data analysis for continuous improvement
    • Current knowledge of effective instructional practices
    • Strong planning, organization, motivation, management, supervision and evaluation skills
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills with internal and external audiences
    • Experience with the MTSS process and the Standards-Based Teaching/Learning Cycle
    • Knowledge of school-based budget/planning
    • Demonstrated skills in facilitation, problem solving, and conflict management
    • Understanding of English Language Learners and appropriate programming

    Employment is contingent upon successful completion of the post-offer screening process, including a background check.

    SALARY: Range 12: $87,006 - $130,508 (2017-18 salary schedule – based on experience); excellent benefit package. Website: BVSD Benefits.

    EFFECTIVE DATE: Beginning of 2018-19 school year (estimated to be July 23, 2018)
