Hourly Pay Range: Instructional: $15.00 - $21.75
Intensive: $18.24 - $26.45

Assist students with basic classroom work, including computers, language arts, math and research. Assist classroom teacher with preparing classroom work as needed including, but not limited to, copying, filing, reinforcing discipline, grading and gaining respect of students.
Assists students with intensive needs in both the regular and special education classrooms. This includes behavioral, academic, health and other types of supports.
-Assist teacher(s) in preparing materials; laminating, copying, filing, etc.
-Assist with grading, attendance and instructional centers, etc.
-Assist students with classroom activities.
-Assist with curriculum instructional delivery to both individual and small groups to ensure mastering of subjects.
-Supervise and monitor students during playground, lunchroom, field trips, passing periods, classroom activities, etc. Support eloping students by keeping them within 3-5 feet to ensure the student remains safe. Must be physically able to run with student to keep them in close proximity.
-Assist injured or sick students to the health room.
-Cover classroom for short periods (up to 30 minutes) when the teacher is called out of the classroom for staff meetings or other reasons.
-Perform other duties as assigned.
-Provide support to special education students in the regular and special education classrooms.
-Mentor, support and assist students with a variety of abilities and disabilities to become competent, independent adults.
-Assist students and case manager/teachers on field trips.
-Assist with administering tests or assessments.
-Assist case manager/teacher with paperwork and documentation of progress on goals and plans.
-Maintain student confidentiality, following state regulations and district protocols around confidentiality.
-Collaborate with special education teacher/case manager on implementation of individual student plans.
-Attend required professional development, including CPI, CPR and First Aid. Maintain certification in these areas.
-Follow behavior support plans, both proactive supports and crisis management, including appropriate use of CPI and maintaining student confidentiality.
-When requested, attend IEP annual or tri-annual meetings as well as staff meetings.
-High School Diploma or equivalent
-Ability to perform physical labor, including lifting of up to 50 pounds
-Complete and submitted BVSD online application
-Communicate (read, write, and speak) in English, must pass English component of interview process
-CPI, CPR, and First Aid certifications within 30 days after hire
-Experience working with children
-Positive communication, interaction and work experience with diverse people
-Basic bilingual skills (English/Spanish)
-Salary Placement varies according to experience and education.
