    Under the direction of the Assistant Superintendent for Elementary School Leadership, the Executive Director for Elementary School Leadership will support elementary schools and programs.

    Provide collaborative leadership in the following areas:
    • Communicate and problem-solve with administrators, teachers, parents and community members to provide a highly effective and welcoming school environment through school visits, phone calls, emails, staff meetings, parent/community meetings and principal meetings;
    • Respond to and provide assistance to individual elementary school sites in addressing problems and issues specific to the site, including school safety;
    • Assist school principals in the implementation of strategic plan key action steps in priority areas;
    • Support the leadership capacity of elementary principals, including the design and professional development for monthly meetings;
    • Provide guidance/training promoting effective school improvement planning to achieve strategic outcomes and student success;
    • Supervise the Director of the elementary school counseling program;
    • Supervise the Director of Parent and Family Partnerships
    • Coordinate district-level initiatives with curriculum directors and assistant directors to assure that lines of communication are open and that adequate support is given to the elementary schools;
    • With the Assistant Superintendent, coordinate and facilitate district level work that impacts elementary schools;
    • Oversee Kindergarten Readiness
    • Support Kindergarten Cadre and assist Assistant Superintendent with 3 – 3rd Initiative
    • With the Assistant Superintendent, allocate staffing for teachers, elementary school counselors, clerical, paraeducators, and library media specialists;
    • Provide oversight for the administrative transfer process for elementary schools;
    • Coordinate, communicate and represent BVSD in the community.


    • Colorado Principal License
    • Three (3) years of building administration experience
    • Completed BVSD Online Application including background checks

    • Experience in central administration leadership role
    • Knowledge of student assessment and data analysis for continuous improvement
    • Understanding of English Language Learners and appropriate programming
    • Knowledge of best instructional practices
    • Knowledge of Preschool programming and best instructional practices
    • Strong planning, organization, motivation, management, supervision, and evaluation skills
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills with internal and external audiences
    • Experience with the MTSS and Standards-Based Teaching and Learning
    • Knowledge of school-based budget/planning
    • Demonstrated skills in facilitation, problem-solving, and conflict management
    • Strong instruction, leadership, and staff development skills
    • Evidence of commitment to diversity and equity in professional background
    • Knowledge of continuous improvement, professional learning communities and other current trends and issues in education

    Employment is contingent upon successful completion of the post-offer screening process, including a background check.

    SALARY: Range 16: $100,976 - $151,464 (2017-18 salary schedule). Based on experience; excellent benefit package. Website: BVSD Benefits.
