    SUMMARY:
    The Digital Communications & Engagement Specialist will work to build relationships and engagement with BVSD stakeholders, with a focus in communities that historically have been underrepresented. They will engage the community and share Boulder Valley School District stories through in-person, digital, interactive and print communication. The Digital Communications & Engagement Specialist also will assist in managing the district's online presence, including creating content for the website, social media, and online publications.


    RESPONSIBILITIES:
    -Manages BVSD’s online presence, including online customer and community engagement. Coordinate with the Communications team to develop and implement strategies to build and strengthen the district’s brand in the digital space.
    -Develops and produces social media communications content for district Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and YouTube pages. Monitors social media and responds to community questions and concerns, supporting the district’s strategic priorities of increasing trust in the community through clear and engaging dialogue.
    -Writes and publishes stories that highlight district, student and staff achievements and programs.
    -Gathers and analyzes information to write and edit various print and electronic communication vehicles such as newspapers, brochures, news releases, news tips, web content, social media content, marketing materials, reports, and others as required.
    -Works to foster community engagement; works with different stakeholders and stakeholder groups to gain greater understanding of the communication needs in our community.

    -Develop and implement outreach strategies to build a presence for the district in the community, connecting with stakeholders, new organizations, etc, to expand the reach of our message via interactive media platforms and in-person opportunities.
    -Create and update content across the district’s digital platforms that delivers key, strategic messages. Identifies target audiences, tone, and purpose of each avenue and implements a coordinated and cohesive plan to drive traffic, promote engagement and support district objectives.
    -Supports staff with social media needs, including individual school pages by adhering to all applicable board policies governing social media and digital communications.
    -Available to take and edit photos/video from district events and activities for website, social media posts, and marketing materials.
    -Serve as back-up to the Communication Manager and Chief Communications Officer, as needed.

    -Perform other duties as assigned

    QUALIFICATIONS:
    Required:

    -Bachelor’s Degree with a major in Journalism, Communications, Marketing or other related field OR a minimum of four years work experience directly related to Journalism, Communication or Marketing.
    -Minimum of five years experience in communications, marketing, digital content management, community engagement or public relations is required in addition to the education experience requirement.

    -Bilingual (English & Spanish) proficiency
    -Completed and submitted BVSD on-line application
    -Communicate (read, write, and speak) in English

    Preferred:
    -Proficient with Google apps, Adobe suite, web tools, analytics, and new media platforms.

    Salary Information:

    -Salary Placement varies according to experience and education.
