    Overview:

    Boulder Valley School District remains committed to doing everything possible to maintain in-person learning. With that in mind, Classroom Monitors will support staff and students who are quarantined. Classroom Monitors will work as needed Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Each situation is different and the days and times will vary.

    Summary:
    When the teacher is quarantined, the Classroom Monitor will supervise age-appropriate educational activities for students as directed by the classroom teacher, provide direction, guidance and assistance to students and ensure student safety and security. When the student is quarantined, the classroom monitor will help coordinate learning materials, support students virtually with assignments, and communicate with parents as needed.

    Responsibilities:
    -Help teacher make copies or other preparation of learning materials
    -Meet parent/guardian at school to deliver learning materials or deliver learning materials to student’s home if parent/guardian is unavailable to go to school
    -Host “office hours” when parents or students can schedule a Google Meet to ask questions or for tutoring
    -Help coordinate any virtual learning connection the teacher would like to make via Google Meet
    -One-on-one virtual tutoring
    -Enforce health and safety requirements including students' mask use and social distancing
    -Supervise students as they enter and exit the classroom, student use of restroom facilities, escort them to the library, gym, cafeteria, and playground. Follow dismissal procedures.
    -Follow instructional schedule set by virtual classroom teachers. Supervise students in educational and enrichment activities. Keep the classroom environment respectful and conducive to learning.
    -Provide positive behavior support to students as needed. Communicate behavioral concerns to classroom teacher and administration.
    -Provide technical assistance to students while they are engaged in virtual instruction
    -Perform other duties as assigned

    Qualifications:
    Required:

    -High School Diploma or equivalent
    -Completed and submitted BVSD online application
    -Communicate (read, write, and speak) in English

    Preferred:

    -Experience working with school aged children.
