BOULDER VALLEY SCHOOL DISTRICT is committed to create challenging, meaningful, and engaging learning opportunities so that all children thrive and are prepared for successful, civically engaged lives. Our comprehensive and innovative approach to education ensures that each student meets expectations relative to intellectual growth, physical development and social emotional well-being. The district covers approximately 500 square miles and serves the communities of Boulder, Erie, Louisville, Lafayette, Superior, Broomfield, Nederland, Ward, Jamestown and Gold Hill. Website: BVSD.

Two programs, one PACK, unified through discovery, relationships, and student empowerment. Platt is a School of Excellence where children thrive in an academic environment provided by highly-qualified teachers and staff committed to each student’s intellectual, physical and emotional needs. We understand that preadolescent children bridge the educational span between elementary school and high school, and we design our school environment and instruction to match those needs. Our programming focuses on academic rigor, encourages exploration of the arts and humanities, promotes technological expertise, and supports community building in a safe environment. At Platt, teachers work to create cross curricular lessons and units in order to create relevant and authentic learning opportunities. Each grade level (sixth, seventh, and eighth) is a team with the exception of one team called CHOICE which is multi-grade. CHOICE is an acronym that stands for Cooperative Hands-On Integrated Community Education. Students in the CHOICE program attend mixed-grade-level classes and stay with the same team of teachers for three years. Students may apply for this three-year program only through the open-enrollment process. Website: Platt Middle School and CHOICE Program
